How to delete files and folders

It is easy to delete a file, but sometimes it is not what you would like to actually do. In order to avoid possible data loss, we recommends that any file removals are done through the cPanel's File Manager. It provides you with an utility, similar to your computer's Recycle Bin – a file is not permanently deleted, and is available for recovery for a certain amount of time.

In order to delete a file using the File Manager, please log in to your cPanel and select the respective icon. When you find the file to be removed, please click on the name. A list of option will be displayed in the upper right corner of the page. Select Delete File to remove it.

Please note that in case the object you wish to remove is a directory, all files and folders that are under it will also be removed.

In case you have accidentally removed a file, you could take advantage of the capability of the cPanel to restore deleted files. All you need to do is click on the filename in the Trash section, and the file/folder will be restored to its original location.
