Recommended firewall

What firewall do you recommend to secure my Linux server?
MACI recommends the CSF (ConfigServer Security & Firewall) firewall for all clients using Linux as their operating system. CSF is supported by our recommend control panels, Webmin and cPanel. in addition to working on servers without a control panel. When using a control panel, a GUI is provided in addition to the command line interface (CLI). CSF is a A Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall, Login/Intrusion Detection and Security application for Linux servers.

CSF monitors your server for intrusions, failed login attempts for all services, and level 7 DDoS attacks. You can also block individual IP addresses that may be causing you problems. CSF is flexible allowing you to ban IP addresses based off a number of different factors permanently or just temporarily. CSF also comes with multiple pre-built profiles which you can then customize to fit your specific needs and security risk acceptance.

If you wish to install CSF yourself, click here for instructions on how to do so. MACI can also install CSF for you for a small one time fee. Contact our support department for additional information. Customers on our enterprise line of products can enjoy the security of CSF and have MACI install and manage it free of charge.
